Steel box girders, also known as steel plate box girders, are a common structural form for long-span bridges and are generally used in bridges with large spans. A steel box girder is usually composed of a top plate, bottom plate, web plate, transverse diaphragm, longitudinal diaphragm, stiffeners, etc., connected by full welding. The top plate is a bridge deck composed of a cover plate and longitudinal stiffeners. It has the characteristics of light self-weight, high strength, and large torsional rigidity. Its cross-sectional form is usually a closed thin-walled box type, which can effectively resist positive and negative bending moments and torque.
Design Technology
Bafang Steel Structure adopts 3D solid modeling, uses Rhino and GRASSHOPPER to construct bridge lines and plates, and uses Tekla software for 1:1 lofting and node processing to ensure that each plate can be accurately assembled, each node can be perfectly joined, and at the same time determine the transportation sections and installation sequence. Common steel materials include Q355QC, Q355QD, etc.
Production Technology
Bafang Steel Structure adopts a numerical control production line, equipped with various processing equipment such as intelligent numerical control laser cutting machines, large gantry welding machines, rail-type intelligent welding robots, teach-free mobile welding robots, and self-innovatively designed assembly jigs that can be arbitrarily disassembled and assembled. Bafang Steel Structure is equipped with ultrasonic flaw detectors and magnetic particle flaw detectors, and has a national certified testing institution Class I laboratory. The product processing quality meets the requirements of "Code for Acceptance of Construction Quality of Steel Structures", "Code for Welding of Steel Structures", and "Code for Manufacture and Installation of Highway Steel Structure Bridges", and always maintains excellent quality standards.

Construction technology
A detailed transportation and construction plan must be formulated for steel box bridges. Since most steel box bridge components are over-width and over-height, the transportation route should be determined in advance, and the component sections should be determined in conjunction with the construction plan. The construction mostly adopts segmental hoisting. Before hoisting, temporary supports should be designed according to the component segment design, and the support foundation should be designed according to the water flow and water level. During construction, hoisting should be carried out in strict accordance with the installation sequence to ensure that the plate overlap meets the specification requirements and that all hidden welds can be welded normally and meet the quality requirements.

The box-shaped cross-section is a closed space structure with extremely high torsional rigidity and bending rigidity. The steel plate can enhance the local stability of the web and flange through reasonable arrangement of stiffeners, ensuring the safety of the structure under heavy loads.
